UFOs IN YOUR BACKYARD

When you hear of someone who claims to have seen something unidentified in the sky, I am willing to bet the first thing you think of is that it is nowhere near you. And that you are safe from anything like that ever happening to you. It only happens to other people…..

We are here to tell you’d be wrong.

In 2015, a young man in a small community just outside Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, spotted something unusual in the night sky a short distance from his house. He described it as three glowing green lights forming a large triangle shape, hovering low in the sky (similar to the altitude that a small plane would fly at). He watched it with a family member for about 10 minutes and then began to walk closer to it. Several trees were blocking his view and as he walked to catch sight of it again, the object had disappeared. He isn’t sure how, as he did not see it move away from the area.

This happened in the skies above our homestead, known for a lot of unexplained activity, which may not necessarily be relevant but nonetheless, it happened. This is not the first time unusual things were seen in the sky there. We’ve previously mentioned the strange night when I was a kid and my grandmother saw unexplained lights in the sky above the house at this same location.

In another ufo newsletter, we linked to a ufo sighting along the Lahave River which is in very close proximity to our house. There are also others listed below from areas that are very close by.

Every single month in Canada, there are hundreds of reports of unusual lights, oddly shaped crafts and general weirdness in the skies. An alarming number of them are right here in Nova Scotia.

Yes, some of those are surely planes, planets, stars, birds, drones, satellites and meteorites. But LOTS of them are none of those things. Lots of them just do not fit into those convenient categories. And don’t forget about the vast number of sightings that never get reported to anyone.

How about this couple who were up close and personal with a ufo that dive-bombed their car near Amherst, NS?

In the last 15 years, the amount of data regarding strange craft in the skies around Nova Scotia is nearly endless. We’ve compiled a short list of what people have been seeing recently. This is only a sampling---I’d be typing for days if you wanted to read all of them.

Odd lights (that cannot be contributed to a known source) are the most often reported sighting. Below, we are only including reports of lights that cannot be identified as something conventional. This is based on the behaviour of the light: ie; it zig-zagged, had a strobe effect or moved about strangely, and therefore cannot be considered normal.

Triangle formations are the most commonly seen “shape”. However, there are various reported types (rectangles, circles, v-shapes, cigar shapes and cylinders).

Here are some of the recent ones spotted around our province:

REPORTS OF LIGHTS
  • Petite Riviere: green strobing light
  • Crousetown: 3 steady green lights, forming triangle shape
  • Bridgewater: large yellowish-reddish light in the woods with mechanical sounds
  • Bridgewater: lights moving into triangle formation

  • Sydney: Triangle formation of blinking lights
  • Truro: Triangle formation, green and white lights, low flying (2 separate reports, same craft, 6 months apart)
  • Yarmouth: rectangle shaped, bright white lights
  • Yarmouth: cluster of still white lights
  • Pictou: Red light zigzagging
  • Dartmouth: 15 lights at once, flashing, creating different formations
  • Dartmouth: 3 lights in triangle formation
  • Halifax: sighting of a green “line” in the sky ( 3 separate reports; all occurred in 2010)
  • Greenwood: Yellow lights bouncing back and forth
  • Glace Bay: Orange fireball morphing into large dark round object and sped away
  • Nine Mile River: Green light
  • New Glasgow: 4 objects in diamond formation
  • Kingston: very white light, jerking motion

Although we have produced several newsletters regarding this phenomenon, we hope to drive home the point that not everything in the sky can be easily explained and we suggest you keep your eyes open when you are out there.

If you see anything not from earth, please try to get videos or pictures. At the very least….please let us know!
